Scoozi

It has been a while since we last get together. Our gang of "we love travelling" usually shares our last trip experience, some of which are so funny after we had gone through it already. This time we have lunch at Scoozi at a complex near Major Ratchayothin. All are o.k., better than the last time that I had at Surawong branch.

Denmark - Roskilde & Copenhagen

Today we visit the Roskilde. It takes about 20 minutes from the Central Train Station to Roskilde Station.

Beautiful flowers are everywhere.

The Roskilde Hospital.

The Roskilde Cathedral

The royal column.

The Roskilde Cathedral is in the center of the town. Eversince the early Middle Ages, Roskilde Cathedral has been one of Denmark's most outstanding churches. At least two churches have preceded the present cathedral on the very same site. The present one is one of the earliest examples of French-inspired, Gothic brick architecture. In 1995, the Cathedral was added to UNESCO's list of the world's most precious cultural assets.

We then have lunch at the square.

Walking through the park to the Viking museum, we pass the yellow flower field with its strong smell.

Outside of the Viking museum. But we are too lazy to want to see inside and finally take the bus back to the station.

Back to the Copenhagen, we decide to see whether today is the national holiday and stores are opened or not.

The entertainment complex near the hotel.

Lively Copenhagen!!!!

And that should be all for this trip.

Denmark - Copenhagen

There are only 6 of the gang that would like to extend the trip 2 more days. Since the weather forecast for today is raining and cloudy. We decide to see only Copenhagen.

We also do the window shopping at this watch store.

Then we walk through the Stroget, the longest walking street in Europe.

Flower shop around the corner.

There are a lot of stalls around the Kongens Nytorv square.

So we decide to have lunch here. I share the champignon soup with the pork filet sandwich with Mi.

The french-designed equestrian statue of King Christian V in the centre, erected in 1688, original in lead, was recast in bronze in 1946.

We then buy the DFDS Canal Tours (DMK 60 per person per hour) at Nyhavn.

Some of the impressive building during the tour - Thorvaldsens Museum

Finally the Tivoli, one of the "must see" attractions of Denmark.

Then we go back to the Astor Hotel where Khun Bundit will cook for us tonight. A very delicious dinner, especially the fried crispy pork belly with sweet strawberry and Icecreme as dessert.

Iceland from the postcards

Waiting to go to the airport, I take pictures in the hotel.

I and Pe Ba really like these two pictures.

Some of the Iceland postcards:

Don't know the name of this bird, but it seemed that its ability to fish was very amazing!!!

Wish that there were flowers in Iceland at this month.

Iceland - The Blue Lagoon

Our plan today is the Blue Lagoon, the only place that I knew about Iceland years ago when I first saw the pictures of Iceland.

The Blue Lagogon pool inside the complex.

Around the building.

The origin of the seawater is from 2000 meters beneath the surface. In its travels through porous lava, a blend of sea and fresh water undergoes mineral exchange and then near the surface, concentration occurs, due to vaporization, evaporation and finally, sedimentation.

Lunch at the Northern Light Inn.

Iceland landscape, no big trees in the view.

Small beautitul Lake on the way to the next visit.

We then visit the Kleifarvatn Lake.

Kleifarvatn is the largest lake on the Reykjanes peninsula in Iceland, situated in the southern part of the peninsula on the fissure zone of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. It is the third largest lake of southern Iceland. The lake's greatest depth is 97 m.
After the big earthquake in 2000, the lake began to diminish, and 20% of its surface has since disappeared. The cracks that opened up in the earthquake have since then slowly filled again and by 2008 the lake had regained its previous surface level.

Back to the city we visit some of the city landmarks.

City view from the Pearl.

Too bad that the church is in the reconstructing process.
Evangelical Lutheran Church of Iceland, is the state church in Iceland. Like the established churches in the other Nordic countries, the National Church of Iceland professes the LutheranChristianity. Its head is the Bishop of Iceland.

City view upclose.

And that should be all for Iceland.
