2005 Spring in Scotland - Edinburgh Castle
At the Half Moon Battery, Edinburgh Castle.
The castle is stanging upon the basalt core of an extinct volcano. Its role has been changed many times: fortress, royal palace, military garrison and state prison. The castle is now the zealous possessor of the so-called Stone of Destiny, a relic of ancient Scottish kings which was seized by the English and not returned until 1996.
