2005 Northern Vietnam - Halong Bay
Today we buy a tour to visit Halong Bay.
Halong Bay located about 170 kilometers east of Hanoi near the most important North Vietnamese port city of Haiphong, is of a breathtaking scenic beauty. More than 3,000 islands, islets and limestone rocks rise from the waters of the bay. Most of the islands are uninhabited and are protected as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The coast is rocky and perforated by numerous caves and grottoes with ancient talactite and stalagmite formations. There are many caves which visitors can explore including Thien Cung, Dau Go, Sung Sot and Bo Nau.
