Incredible India - Rajasthan Route : Pushkar

Wake up in the morning, we leave Jaipur behind and head to Pushkar.

Pushkar
is one of the five sacred dhams (pilgrimage sites for devout Hindus. It is often called "Tirth Raj" - the king of pilgrimage sites - and has in recent years become a popular destination for foreign tourists.

Pushkar is one of the oldest cities of India.. It lies on the shore of Pushkar Lake. The date of its actual origin is not known, but legend associates Lord Brahma with its creation. It is mentioned that Brahma performed penance here for 60,000 years to have a glimpse of Vishnu.

The Pushkar lake has 52 ghats where pilgrims descend to the lake to bathe in the sacred waters.

Arriving at Pushkar, we get off and walk down the narrow street to the hotel since the car is not allowed in the inner circle of town.

Hotel Everest

Children are playing kites on the rooftop.

Having brunch at the hotel before we go out to explore this small town.

No wonder that there is a kite-shop around here.

Animals on the street.

Lots of beautiful products are hanging along the street, so we finally give in and start shopping.

Try on the Sarees!!!

The city on the bank of the lake.

Finally, we stop for dinner at the Out of the Blue Restaurant, where the Italian pizza is very delicious.

At the restaurant's rooftop.
