2005 Autumn in Kansai - Kyoto
The next day we visit Arashiyama area where we first stop at Tenryu-ji temple for sightseeing. The red-maple-leaves scenery is breathtaking and we take countless photos around these area.
This temple is one of the major temples of Zen. It was built after a priest had dream of a dragon rising from the nearby river. It was interpreted as a sign that the emperor’s spirit was uneasy and the temple was constructed as appeasement – hence the name tenryu (heavenly dragon).
