2005 Northern Vietnam - Ninh Binh

Tam Coc
We take a very pleasant rowboat journey up and down the Ngo Dong river which passes through a set of three limestone caves. However, on the way back, the boat owners try a pretty hard sell for their embroidery and also ask for the a high tip.

Tam Coc region is 9 kilometers southwest of Ninh Binh. The longest cave is 120 meters. The caves eroded through the limestone hills with minimal overhead clearance for the boat to pass through. Amazing rock formations are surrounded by the rice fields.
